Getting to Hotel

To international travelers, the most logical and easiest way to get to Salamanca is by first getting to Madrid. From Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), there is a direct and comfortable bus offered by Avanza that operates several times daily right from the airport (Terminal 1 and Terminal 4) straight to the Salamanca bus station. It takes about 2.5-3 hours. This is the hassle-free option.

You can travel by train from Madrid to Salamanca. Take a metro or taxi ride from the airport up to the Chamartín train station, found inside Madrid city. From there, catch high-speed ALVIA ͏train service operated by RENFE which will bring you to Salamanca in about 90 minutes’ time. When you have reached the main Salamanca ͏train station hail a cab for Hotel Castellano I; it is very nearby only about five to ten minutes’ walk so perfect for those who prefer coming in by rail.

From the bus station at Salamanca, the hotel can also be easily reached; it is just a walk of about 20 minutes away or by a short taxi ride. A car is not recommended for a stay at Salamanca because there is a maze of narrow streets in the historic center and parking is very difficult and expensive to find. The hotel does not have its private parking; therefore if you are driving in, be ready to use public parking near the place.
